About me

My name is Melisa, and I’m a BACP Registered Psychotherapist and Trainee Counselling Psychologist. Throughout my psychology journey, I’ve gained experience across both the NHS and private sector, working as an Assistant Psychologist and Research Assistant at UCL. I’m now continuing my training on a Counselling Psychology Doctorate programme.

Along the way, I’ve learned how to navigate the competitive landscape of psychology careers—successfully receiving three Assistant Psychologist offers from 16 applications, and securing a place on the doctorate on my first attempt.

Disclaimer: My advice and services are based on personal experience and advice from colleagues and peers. I am still undergoing my training in Counselling Psychology, and am not yet HCPC or BPS accredited.
